Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid that teaches you how to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. ASIST workers can be compared to the first aid officer on site.
ASIST is an internationally certified and recognised training and is considered the best practice when it comes to suicide intervention programs.
Anyone 16 and over is eligible to register for this training session, and no prerequisites are required.
The course costs $330 unless you have a current CITB Registration Number*; then, it will be free. You must provide the number when registering for a ticket.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a two-day workshop, and you MUST be present for both days.
There are limited numbers for this training, so register now to secure your place.
If you are unable to attend the training, please advise trainer Marilyn Sheffield at 0455 066 694 or Hannah Burns at 0437 157 139 prior to the date so that the spot can be offered to someone else.
*CITB funding may be sourced to cover the cost of the ASIST workshop for participants with a current CITB number.
