Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t want to die—they are just struggling to bear the pain of living in the moment. Through their words and actions, they usually send invitations to others for help.
Connector training teaches you how to recognise these invitations and help someone at risk by effectively engaging with them and connecting them to help that is the most appropriate for their situation.
You will learn:
- How to be alert to the signs of suicide.
- How to ask about suicide.
- How to connect a person to help.
- How to look after yourself.
The skills learned in Connector training provide important life skills, so we encourage anyone aged 15 years or older who wants to make a difference to take the training. No prerequisite experience, training, or qualifications are required.
