The Department of Energy and Public Works is proud to partner with MATES in Construction.

As a major client of the Queensland construction industry, the department supports activities that improve workplace health and safety both from a physical perspective and, importantly, from a mental health perspective.

We understand that the wellbeing of building construction workers not only impacts those working on site but their families too, and these impacts can be felt well after knock-off time.

Organisations like MATES in Construction play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of construction workers and reducing the high level of suicide among this group.

One suicide is one too many – it’s vital that help is available for people when they are going through a tough time.

As an Industry Partner, the Department of Energy and Public Works is pleased to help keep MATES officers at job sites every day, right across the state at no cost and readily available to those who need them.
